Please go to Performance Schedule to see the June dates I have added...
April 9, 2009
Added April dates and some stuff for May as well...
Recently got to see Rudder at the Rex again, with Keith Carlock. Man, they are on fire and their new CD, 'Matorning' is a killer.

I finally got around to updating the site a little... and by that I mean adding the schedule for March and adding a few links.
October 18, 2008
I'm up really early because I may be heading downtown to play for some dancers at 9:30am, so I decided to put up the October schedule, even though it's already half over. On Monday I'm playing in the house band for the MARTYs so that should be fun, and then George Meanwell is playing at Ontario Contact. Next month is the big concert with George and Stephanie Martin at the Enwave Theatre, which is pretty exciting.

Heading to the studio tonight to make a record with Donovan Woods. August turned out to be a wild month, with a couple of last-minute Stage West gigs thrown in for good measure.

John Stewart at the Mississauga News was kind enough to write about my gigs next week with Ryan Oliver and Alex Coleman. http://mississauga.com/article/17686 Thanks again, John!

Finally got around to adding the August schedule.
July 13, 2008
Finally got around to adding the rest of the July schedule. It's been a good month so far, with shows with George Meanwell and the TJO (separately) in Peterborough, and with Andrew Austin at the opening night gala for the Mississauga Independent Film Festival.
I'm about to start pre-production with a great singer named Andrea Loren, and we hope to record at some point soon. Really looking forward to that. Donovan Woods will also be recording new material for the album to be released at the end of August.

Just added the June schedule. There are still a couple of things to go...
April 11, 2008
I've updated the April and May schedule on the Performance page, something I've been quite slow at doing.
George's CD release was a success, and the band will be playing a lot more, so keep an eye out for that.
In March Stephanie had a gig in Port Hope with Mike Francis, and it was a huge honor playing with him... including some unplugged tunes using conga. I was sweating! That gig was a success, too, and Stephanie has a bunch more stuff coming up. Donovan Woods also has a busy month ahead, with some cool future plans to be announced, of course.

I was surprised to find a nice little article about George's CD release in The Mississauga News today. Thanks to John Stewart for writing it. I hope the Bob Dylan quote doesn't get me in trouble!

I've been extremely remiss in updating this site. March has been pretty busy with gigs and rehearsals, especially since there are some pretty big shows coming up...
George Meanwell & The Loss Leaders CD Release: George Meanwell is a great singer/songwriter, and was also a long-time member of Quartetto Gelato, an award-winning Canadian group. We've been working hard on his music since last year sometime, and the CD is done and ready. It will be released this coming Tuesday, March 25 at Hugh's Room in Toronto. The record and release both feature a stellar band including Rick Whitelaw, Ray Parker and bass player/producer Chad Irschick, and special guests Stephanie Martin, Joseph Macerollo and Clifford Maynes. I'll be playing drums, and singing a bit, too.
The new CD is called "Late" and you should get one!
Stephanie Martin in Port Hope: Later on that week on March 29, Stephanie Martin will be returning to the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope. It's Earth Day, and we will be participating. There will be an acoustic set in the show. But there is also a special guest: legendary guitarist Michael Francis will be joining us for this concert. I'm extremely excited about this, not to mention that Stephanie's record "Shape, Line & Harmony" is now being distributed nationally by Fontana North/Universal. (Ironically, the same label as Donovan Woods - and Daniel Lanois.)

Just added a really cool gig, this Saturday at the Tranzac. Ryan Oliver is a great saxophonist from Toronto who is now NY-based and we're going to be playing in a trio with bass player Alex Coleman. Should be a blast.

A link to this site has been added to the Headhunters Drumsticks website. The site has recently undergone a huge redesign and looks great. Check it out.
